Math doesn't have to be a set time... it can be incorporated throughout the day!

Math and VocabularyBy exposing students to the vocabulary and language it enhances their exploration of mathematical concepts. For example, in Reception (Kindergarten) they list words such as symmetrical and repeating patterns. How can teachers create activities that allow for the exploration and learning of this language? How can students explain their thinking and share what they mean? Teachers can use and incorporate math language daily, to help student learn the words in a meaningful way.

Some research suggests that music activates the same areas of the brain that people use while solving spatial-temporal reasoning problems. Playing music, and listening to music can help students stimulate the different hemispheres in the brain and complete complex mathematical problems.

Math and History |
How can historians calculate and measure the differences between population growth during a certain time frame without the use of math? Why are bar graphs used in textbooks to show the growth of crops, or the income of a country? Math is imbedded into this curriculum area without many people acknowledging that it is.
