Patient- Learning takes time, being kind to ourselves when we don't know something... yet.

Empathetic- Being able to show and share feelings with each other.

Respected- Having due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights and traditions of the student. Recognizing that there is something to be admired as a result of their abilities and qualities.

Present- Knowing that to be "present" in the classroom, it is much more than their bodies being physically inside. It is having their minds mentally present, or acknowledging that there can be many factors that prevent this.

Belonging- Making sure that students feel like they are comfortable in the classroom.

Invited- No matter what, students are welcomed into the classroom. They are welcomed to share their experiences with those who are present in the class.

Care-The knowledge that they are looked after, and that they have your attention.

Welcomed- Families and students from all different types of backgrounds are welcomed with open arms to share their knowledge and build our classroom community.

Warm- Showing and expressing enthusiasm, affection or kindness in the classroom.

Time- Learning takes time, students may not know something-- but that doesn't mean they won't ever. It is the power of a growth mindset and saying "I don't know this, yet."

Playful- Playing is the one of the best ways for students to learn, this is where the real learning happens. Keeping the spirit of play alive for students to keep exploring, bringing joy and learning.

Connections- Building relationships within the class means having the trust to lookout for each other, and building connections with families- the students' first teachers.

Safe- No matter where a student comes from, they are welcomed into the classroom and not exposed to be harmed.

Understanding- Acknowledging that things may be frustrating, or exciting, or all other emotions and understanding how they shape us as learners.

Curious- The ability to experiment, take risks and explore.

Joy- Seeing happiness in the little things that matter to us as individuals. Recognizing that what brings us "joy" may not bring "joy" to others.

Valued- The knowledge that a student is considered to be important and benefit the classroom.

Family- The family structure that the students' are apart of, shape the student to what you see today. Families are the student's first teachers, playing one of the most important roles as that student grows up.

Thoughtful- Showing the consideration of the needs of the classroom.

Trust- By building a foundation of trust, students and the teacher will learn together and build positive, lasting impressions of school.
