Math and the First Peoples' Principles of Learning emphasizes the ability for students to build up on wheat they already know, and their interests. By presenting mathematics in a various ways, it is creating experiential problems for students to solve.
By using the power of story, educators are able to weave in many different aspects of Indigenous culture. There may be oral storytelling, healing, entertainment and the sharing of personal stories-- aspects that are reflective of Indigenous practices.
